Baghdad Diary

I received an email today from a person who is working as a freelance journalist for the German magazine NEON. ( And here is also a translated page of the magazine's website )The journalist is organizing a story for the magazine about the daliy life of five or six Baghdad citizens for one week. The diaries are going to be published in the magazine as episodes for a whole week. So I was asked if I could participate in this project to write about my dailt life and the difficulties I face everyday in the "most dangerous" city in the world.

Doesn't that sound cool?! I never thought that would come a day when I can write about my own life in a foriegn magazine!

Baghdad bloggers, did anyone of you get such an email ??

Thank you guys :)

Attawie, next time you have a journalist send him over to me! You know me, I like doing such things since the days of Al-Jazeera and Abu Dhabi's interviews.. They were good times, and we had so much fun..

Nobody probably knows what I'm talking about!! ;)

Jason, good to see you again. I'll defenitly let you know when the articles are done so you and everyone else can read.. Hope to talk to you again soon.

Bill, I don't know..I haven't thought of this money issue before! And also, they didn't mention it. So I guess there will be no money. Besides, I'm going to enjoy my time writing about my daily life in Baghdad. It's going to be the same thing as posting in the blog! The subscribtion to the magazine seems a very good idea, but how will I be able to get the magazine in Iraq?! I don't think they can send me the magazine here either! Thank you so much for your care :)

Oh, and by the way, I got another email from this journalist today asking me when to begin!! Yaay, I'm so thrilled :)

ok...how bout this...u post ur work here first (for all ur true and loyal fans)and agree to let the mag. use on the condition they link to ur site ;o)

Morbid Smile said...

Well, Bill, I must admit.. YOU ARE BRILLIANT, where do you get such ideas from?! I'll take my work back if they don't link to my blog! Make sure I'll do this ;)

Thank you so much for the kind words...spoze I get such ideas from years of being in the music biznez and scuffling for a living.
I go on the theory of "if you want to hear the music ya-got-to-pay-da-band"

*tries to stop rolling on the floor from seeing that crappy yahoo "translation"*

Anyway, I just googled NEON. It appears to be the new youth "daughter" of the political magazine "Der Stern".
Although the Stern regrettably has added more and more sensationalism during the last years, they're still a very respectable left-wing magazine.

So, go, Iraqi bloggers! :D

Hello Melantrys, You welcome here.. and thank you do much :)
